Precautions And Tips For Installing Door And Window Sealing Strips!
Doors and windows are usually equipped with sealing strips, which can prevent dust, water and sound insulation. However, many people don't know much about it, especially in terms of installation.
Door and window sealing strips are mainly used in architectural decoration doors and windows such as UPVC doors and windows, aluminum alloy doors and windows, wooden doors and windows, and aluminum-coated plastic doors and windows. Door and window seals on the market are generally extruded from PVC, reformative PVC, EPDM, elastomer seals (including TPV, TPE, TPR, SEBS), silicone and other materials. According to different uses, it can be divided into three categories: door frame and door sash sealing strip, weather strip, and glass sealing strip. The door frame and door sash sealing strip is mainly used for the sealing between the door sash and the door frame, while the weather strip is mainly used for the sealing between the door frame and the door sash, and the glass sealing strip is mainly used for the sealing between the glass, the door sash and the frame.
The installation methods of door and window sealing strip
1. Glass gasket and sealing strip
After the window frame and sash are welded and cleared, the rubber strip should be pushed in the correct direction with a special roller to push the rubber strip into the profile groove with a little force, and at the same time press the rubber strip head down until it is embedded in the profile groove. Since the rubber strip is an elastic body, it may shrink back after being rolled. The correct method is: when the rubber strip is installed at the joints at both ends, retract the two ends of the rubber strip to the middle, and leave a shrinkage margin of 2-3 cm, and then cut and insert it into the notch.
2. Glass layering
According to the correct side of the rubber strip, manually insert the tip of the rubber strip into the profile groove, and then press the exposed surface of the rubber strip firmly to press the rubber strip into the gap between the glass and the profile. The rubber strips at both ends retract a little towards the middle, leave a length of 1-2 cm, cut it off, and press it into the notch.
Precautions for installation of door and window sealing strips
1. Before installing the glass, it is necessary to carefully remove the sundries in the notch, such as mortar, brick chips, wood blocks, etc. When placing the glass, it should be carefully centered to ensure that the gap on both sides is even, and it should be corrected and fixed in time to prevent collision, displacement, and deviation.
2. The rubber sealing strip cannot be pulled too tight, and the cutting length is 20-30mm longer than the assembly length. When installing, it should be inlaid in place, the surface is straight, and it is in close contact with the glass and the glass notch, so that the force on the periphery of the glass is even. The rubber strip at the corner should be cut off on an inclined plane, and the waterproof silicone should be injected into the broken place to bond firmly.
3. When using waterproof silicone to fix the glass, the glass should be squeezed with rubber strips or rubber blocks first, leaving a gap for waterproof silicone injection. The depth of waterproof silicone injection should not be less than 5mm. Before the waterproof silicone is cured, the glass should be kept from vibration.
4. The top is generally installed on the window (door) sash, around the frame sash or on the sealing bridge (wind block) to enhance the seal between the frame and the sash.
5.The top specification is an important factor affecting the watertight performance of sliding doors and windows, and it is also an important factor affecting the opening and closing force of doors and windows. If the top specification is too large or the vertical wool is too high, it is not only difficult to assemble, but also increases the movement resistance of doors and windows, especially the initial resistance when opening and the final seating resistance when closing.
